The April luncheon will be in a 3,000 sq.ft. barn at The Groves on 41, a family-owned and run a 4,000 olive tree farm east of Templeton. The Tallent Family farm specializes in unique flavors of olive oil which will be available for tasting and purchase at the luncheon.

Adelaida Cellars will offer a selection of their excellent white and red wines for purchase by the glass or bottle, and Chef Jeffrey Wiensinger will provide a buffet-style lunch incorporating both the Tallent olive oils and Adelaida wines in his menu.

Two World War II veterans, Walter (Walt) Stacy and Charles (Charlie) Rose will be our speakers.  They will recount some of their war experiences and explain to us about  Honor Flight, a national program that enables senior veterans to visit the memorials in Washington, D.C.

Walter Stacy trained and served as a Naval Aviator in a fighter squadron based on the West Coast, Hawaii and Saipan during World War ll. He flew SBDs for dive bomber training and was then assigned to a fighter-bombing squadron. He retired as a Commander in 1968 but was recalled to Active Duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He and his wife of 70 years now reside in Cambria.

Charlie Rose served in the Navy as an armed guard on merchant ships during World War ll. He was the youngest of his siblings to serve in the military during the war. All five returned home safely.

He and his wife recently celebrated their 70th anniversary, and reside in Atascadero.
